Education Digital Signage

Texas A&M Digital Signage

In 1996, East Texas State University joined the Texas A&M university system and was renamed Texas A&M University-Commerce. As part of this rebranding process and new program of student services, the university started looking for a digital sign solution with the ability to provide a maximum amount of information to their students, alumni, donors, and visitors. With the Texas A&M digital signage system provided by Four Winds Interactive (FWi), the university is able to push a ton of content out to their audience.

Texas A&M Digital Signage
With multiple interactive features, Texas A&M digital signage is able to display student presentations, art, alumni bios, university contributors, cafeteria schedules, wayfinding, and campus-wide events. Content on the signage is aimed at several audiences: returning alumni and contributors to the university programs as well as current students, visitors, and staff. With a robust feature set, Texas A&M digital signage utilizes the functionality of the software to display information that's useful and entertaining.

One of the most pertinent features for this particular project is the complex data integration capability. This allows the Texas A&M digital signage system to quickly combine and triage both pre-existing information with new content. In turn, the university is able to retain a solid sense of its history and move forward building a new university community within the larger Texas A&M system.

Texas A&M Digital Touch Screen
A 4'x4' video wall, the Texas A&M digital touch screen is able to use the FWi software to showcase an interactive donor wall complete with school history and individual donor recognition. This interactive touch screen allows students, visitors, and faculty to clearly choose and locate information related to the university's history, donors and alumni, awards, board of directors, and charitable donations. And unlike traditional donor walls, a digital version gives the university the flexibility to edit and update the information at any time.

FWi and Education Signage
As with Texas A&M digital signage, this new technology creates exciting capabilities and applications, but effective signage never uses technology for technology's sake. David Levin, FWi President, reminds clients that "too many people in the industry have thrown up digital signs and put content on there that didn't really make a difference." To make sure you're implementing the best possible system and seeing a return on the investment, FWi takes a client-centered approach. We'll sit down and discuss precisely what's most important to your educational institution. No two schools are exactly the same. From campus maps, building directories, information boards, advertising displays for both student organizations and outside revenue, and interactive kiosks that serve specific pedagogical strategies, there is no shortage of educational signage applications.
