University Digital Signage

Gonzaga University Digital Wayfinding

The Gonzaga School of Professional Studies wanted to implement an interactive digital signage solution to showcase building mapping, event details, and student information. With sophisticated data integration, built-in wayfinding, and unique interactivity functionality, the FWi digital sign software package offered Gonzaga the features they needed right out of the box.

Gonzaga University, Digital Displays, and the Tilford Center
Formed in 1974, the School of Professional Studies recently opened the doors of a new building. The building has one vertical, interactive display on each of its three floors to provide important information to students, staff, and visitors. Interactive signage allows for a large amount of information to be displayed on one screen. Taking advantage of an on-screen interactive keyboard allows students, visitors, and staff to do live internet searches on Gonzaga's website. The digital map and interactive wayfinding were custom designed in a vertical orientation to accommodate for the building structure. The Gonzaga School of Professional Studies digital display solution has five interactive buttons that lead you to a building map and directory, event listing, menu for the on-site café, and a link to the Gonzaga website with a virtual keyboard.

More than just Gonzaga University digital signs, the Tilford Center is at the forefront of the university's student resources and technology. From a robot that simulates patients for nursing students to starboards (which work as digital whiteboards), the Tilford Center is a cutting-edge building and educational resource, and Four Winds Interactive is proud to be part of its interior design and infrastructure. In the May 2009 edition of the Spirit, the university's faculty and staff newsletter, Mark Beattie, director of Distributive Learning in the School of Professional Studies, said of the Tilford Center and the program at-large, "it is not about what will be, but about what might be," Beattie said. "The Internet just recently celebrated its 20th anniversary. We want to be flexible and able to accommodate what's to come in the future of the University and the future of technology." Accommodating what's coming in the future of technology, the same can be said for digital displays and Four Winds Interactive.

Gonzaga University Digital Signature Requirements
Gonzaga University's digital signage may not have not a campus-wide system in place just yet, but there are still general signage requirements that all colleges and student organizations must follow. In particular, there are color, font, scale, and style requirements whenever a college or university organization wishes to display the university signature (mark + logotype). These and other signage requirements must be adhered to whether using a Gonzaga University digital sign or any other signage type or forum.
